What to Expect as a Daily Donor

The Commitment of a Daily Stool Donor

We’re looking for healthy donors! Ideal donors are willing to keep up with program requirements avoiding pauses or discontinuations because you...
  • Live or work within 20 minutes of a donation center and have no plan for changes that would make your commute longer
  • Have a flexible schedule
  • Are generally healthy and are able to avoid use of medications or illnesses that might cause pause in donations and/or discontinuation
  • You don’t travel regularly for work or vacation
  • When you do travel, you tend not to travel outside of the United States and Canada
  • When you drink, you don’t exceed more than 3 drinks per sitting
  • You can wait to get new tattoos
  • You can wait to use probiotics

Daily Visits

4-6 visits per week. Donations are quick and easy. You’ll have a short health questionnaire, make your donation and be on your way in 20 minutes.

Monthly Check Ins

1 hour visits with a lengthier questionnaire, blood draws and potentially an exam.

You may continue to donate as long as you remain eligible. Donors are expected to donate for 6 months or more.

Pause

You may be asked to pause donations if a lifestyle or health change makes you ineligible but will be notified when you are eligible to return.

Exit Exam

We hope you will continue as a daily donor for as long as you are eligible. However, if you have to exit the program you may be asked to complete an exit exam.

Why Living or Working Close to a Center Matters

Most of our donors live or work within 20 minutes of our centers and walk, bike ride, or drive.  To make stool donations 4-6 days weekly as expected, donations should be convenient.

Plan ahead.  Most people have a bowel movement in the morning. If that’s you, consider rush hour and your work schedule to ensure you can fit donation comfortably into your schedule.
